ARCHITECTURE + PLANNING
Since 1994, the art and science of architecture have come together in the work of Hirsch Associates LLC. That tradition continues with the formation of Hirsch MPG LLC, as Andrew Myren AIA, Richard Parks AIA, and David Genc AIA join Howard Hirsch AIA as principals. At Hirsch MPG, Creating a compelling architectural image is an important component of the design process. Implementing that vision into a physical reality is another. Our task as Architects is to lead a “team” effort that can deliver this design vision, whether it is a space, building or community, on time and within budget. To achieve this vision, Hirsch MPG fosters an office culture emphasizing client responsiveness, excellence in design, thoroughness in technical detailing, and diligence during the construction process. Every Architectural project is unique and every Client has their individual goals. Our goal is to listen carefully, ask the right questions, increase our understanding, and provide creative and appropriate solutions.

To whom it may concern,
Centrum Properties has worked with Hirsch MPG on a continuing basis since their inception in 1994. During that time, Hirsch MPG (HA) has been our architect and planner on a significant number of our projects in Chicago, Florida and Tennessee. We typically ask HA to become involved as planners while we are determining the viability of a potential project, developing site plans and concept designs to assist us in our Proforma and flushing out scope, use and budget issues. Once a project moves forward, HA works closely with our project managers to develop the design based on program requirements, zoning and other municipal limitations and budgetary constraints. We have found them capable of very creative solutions to some very complex problems and highly recommend them.
Most recently HA has been involved, since its inception, in the Roosevelt Collection, a large scale mixed-use development in Chicago’s South Loop. The project consists of 340 loft residential units, 450,000 sf of retail and cinema, and parking for 1600 cars located on three levels below grade and 8 levels above. HA provided the initial master planning and concept design services for the project. Because the scale was so large, other firms were brought in to work with them, splitting up the various components. HA worked well with this large team of architects and engineers which was assembled. In the end, HA took the project through community group meetings and the planned development process, designed the residential portions of the project and continuing on as the architect-of-record for the 340 loft units. A second phase, consisting of 300 additional units in a 45 story tower was also designed by HA but is currently on hold.
Hirsch MPG has a long history of being responsive to our needs, working within tight budgets and working with all the members of our development team. They are experienced in understanding what is required for a project to be successful. We have a very close working relationship with HA that should continue for many years to come. If you need any more specific information on the work Hirsch MPG has done for us, or on our working relationship, please feel free to call me.
We’re a boutique company, yet I’ve always felt that Hirsch gives us priority attention. Hirsch has always been extremely responsive to our needs as retail brokers, and in turn, our clients have been very pleased with the senior level attention their properties have received from them.
We have worked with Hirsch MPG on new construction, additions and renovations. Their knowledge of the development process, retailer needs, and how to work with existing buildings has made them an integral part and asset to our team. They also provide a practical approach to problem solving and are able to arrive at quick solutions without excessive analysis.
I wanted to introduce you to not only a very good friend of mine but also one of the best land/space planners and architects I know of in Chicago. Howard has been doing a majority of Centrums work for about 20 years now and for obvious reasons. He thinks out of the box, is extremely creative, efficient and very reasonable.
If you have the opportunity to consider Howard for anything that might come up in the future it would be greatly appreciated. I’m confident that you would be very pleased with his character and work product.
We had the opportunity to work with Hirsch and Associates on the Roche Bobois Storeroom project at 222 West Hubbard. As both the Property Manager of the property and the General Contractor we were very pleased and impressed. Howard Hirsh and his team were easy to work with and committed to a team approach. Decisions on how to handle unforeseen conditions were made quickly and effectively and as a result the project was able to be completed on time and within our allotted budget. We truly enjoyed working with an architect that clearly understands how things need to be constructed even if it means varying slightly from the original design in order to get there. We would happily work with and recommend Hirsch MPG on many projects in the future.
