Part of a Planned Development that also includes the adjacent, historic, 310 N. Peoria building, 311 Sangamon, provides a 12-story hotel on a small 50’ x 125’ site. The design incorporates 185-keys with a lobby and restaurant space on the first floor. The masonry façade provides a grid of square 2-story elements that are infilled with metal panel and glass, sitting on a glassy base that relates to the entrance of the adjacent building. The beige brick is a modern interpretation of Chicago common brick that is prevalent in the Fulton Market Historic District. As part of the Planned Development process, HMPG worked closely with landmarks to provide a design that was both unique, and sympathetic to the fabric of the historic district in which it is situated. The project was put on hold due to the COVID pandemic.
